Professor Gershanik is currently a Full Professor of Neurology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Buenos Aires. He also serves as Scientific Director and Head of the Movement Disorders Unit at the Institute of Neurosciences of the Favaloro Foundation. Until 2008, he was Head of the Neurology Department at the French Hospital of Buenos Aires and Director of the Neurology Residency Program at the University of Buenos Aires. In the field of basic research, he is the Director of the Experimental Parkinson's Laboratory at the Institute of Pharmacological Research, which is affiliated with the University of Buenos Aires and the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET).
