He serves as the Chairman and Senior Full Professor of Neurology at Ghent University Hospital and is the Director of the 4Brain research group at Ghent University. Prof. Boon is currently the President of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN), an organization dedicated to fostering the best neurological care and promoting research and education in neurology across Europe. His leadership roles within the EAN also include serving as Chair of the EAN Education Committee and Co-chair of the EAN Scientific Panel on Epilepsy.
